Terra Lawn Care - “Weed & Feed” Programme

Below is a standard “TLC Weed & Feed” Programme. All of the Terra Lawn Care programmes have been specially developed for soil types and typical weather conditions in the Lancashire area. Remember all lawns are different, so treatments will vary depending on your lawns requirements.

TLC Spring Treatment

Using our own specially blended fertiliser, suited to cooler soil temperatures and far superior to anything you can buy from the local garden centre, we will feed your lawn using one of our professional broadcast spreaders. This will ensure your lawn gets exactly what it needs and will soon start to get the green colour you’ve been looking for. We will then apply a professional selective weed control solution to your lawn, this will depend on the type of weeds that are active in your lawn.

TLC Early Summer Treatment

Another specially blended fertiliser application, this will be a slow release fertiliser designed to strengthen the grass and prepare it for the summer ahead. These types of fertiliser are usually described as “Non Scorch”, please be aware that when applied incorrectly any fertiliser will scorch your lawn. TLC are fully trained and insured to do this, we also have the same equipment as professional ground staff / green keepers up and down the country. D-I-Why ?? Why take the risk of damaging your lawn when you can have a professional take the risk out of the equation and get the result you really want. We will also treat any new emerging weeds with an application of a selective weed killer.

TLC Late Summer Treatment

Feeding time again with another application of a fertiliser, this time with a little less nitrogen. Nitrogen to a lawn is like sweets to your children. Your children love to eat sweets, and would eat them all of the time if you allowed it, and it would eventually cause them major health problems. They need fruits, vegetables and protein in addition to that sugar rush they crave! The same goes for that lawn of yours. Sure, a lot of nitrogen will turn it green and make it grow fast but it will also starve the root system and eventually your turf will thin and become more prone to disease. Don’t get me wrong, we do want nitrogen in the lawn, but in quantities suitable for proper growth and in balance with other lawn nutrients. You need to feed it other elements like potassium, phosphorus, and micro-nutrients like iron and magnesium, TLC will always apply only what your lawn needs. This time we will treat any of the harder-to-kill weeds that may be active using another suitable professional product.

TLC Autumn Treatment

The last feed of the season, this time the feed is designed to toughen the grass up before winter. Some nitrogen, but more concentrated with potassium and phosphorus. These last two elements strengthen the lawn’s root system which does most of its thickening in the cooler autumn months . TLC want to give your lawn the perfect passage through the dormant season to ensure a quick and lively return come next Spring.
